During the last plenary meeting of the Youth Consultative Council (CCT) of the Municipality of Cluj-Napoca, held on June 7, 2024, 7 resolutions were adopted aiming to improve and support the development of the youth community in the city. These resolutions reflect the CCT’s commitment to create a favorable environment for young people and respond to their needs.
• The adopted resolutions are as follows:
1. Integrated system of opportunities for young people aimed at providing the community with various educational, professional and recreational opportunities, thus contributing to their personal and professional development.
2. An integrated and inclusive volunteering system at municipal level that includes all categories of young people, promoting social inclusion and providing opportunities for active participation in community life.
3. Cluj-Napoca, the first city in Romania with zero new HIV infections. The goal is to make Cluj-Napoca the first city in Romania with zero new HIV infections by implementing effective prevention and information measures within the European Fast Track Cities program, a program that brings together the efforts of the local administration, NGOs and the Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases Cluj-Napoca in order to reduce the number of new HIV infections.
4. Launching an information campaign on HPV vaccination to combat cervical cancer and other related diseases.
5. Activating Iuliu Maniu Street. Upon completion of the modernization works, Iuliu Maniu Street will become an active and dynamic space with events and activities dedicated to young people and the local community. The space is proposed to be a new stage for events in the city, and the space in front of the Youth Centre to become a permanent space for young people.
6. Integrated guide for organizing public events in Cluj-Napoca which aims to support organizers in the preparation and implementation of activities.
7. The visual identity of the Youth Advisory Council. The new visual identity will reflect the values and mission of the structure in all activities and public communications.
By adopting these resolutions, the Youth Advisory Council of the Municipality of Cluj-Napoca reaffirms its commitment to support and promote the interests of young people in the community, providing them with opportunities and resources for harmonious and responsible development. A further round of consultations will follow for new resolutions to be debated at the October plenary session.
