The Youth Centre opened more than a week ago.
So far there have been meetings of youth organizations and youth events, from workshops to working meetings to prepare joint activities for this year.
We aim to keep you up to date with important and/or interesting things happening at our Youth Centre.
Today, we tell you a little bit about Community 156 who decided to prepare their 2023 agenda at the Youth Centre. We met them last year at different activities so we knew them pretty well.
What is Community 156?
It is a project initiated by Professor Dr. Sergiu-Georgian Mazerschi, started as an extracurricular activity in 2021, within the High School of Visual Arts “Romulus Ladea” in Cluj Napoca. Today, Community 156 consists of students, former students and teachers of the high school.
What plans does Community 156 have?
In short, Community 156 wants to become a model for other high schools in the country by organizing extracurricular activities in order to prepare students to become professionals in the fields they want to specialize in.
Community 156 also aims to promote the image of the school it represents, through the activities it carries out and through the quality of its members who understand the value of a community and thus contribute to the achievement of the objectives set.
Beyond the fine words and ambitious plans, Community 156 is a group of young people doing a lot of things in the arts. Coordinated by their teacher, the students have come to problematize topics that sometimes seem taboo, such as school uniforms. Here, they even designed and produced a school uniform model for community members.
What have Community 156 members done so far?
They participated in national/international competitions, courses, exhibitions, events such as art fairs, sticker and music festivals. They were also involved in volunteering and collaborations with other educational establishments and the private sector.
The portfolio of activities is impressive considering the voluntary nature of their activities, the scarce resources and, of course, the fact that they are students, meaning their first job is school :).
You can follow the community page for confirmation of what has been said so far: https://www.instagram.com/comunitatea156/.
Finally, the good news is that for this year, Community 156 aims to realize the first mural art contest dedicated to students. We keep our fingers crossed and urge you to follow them.
See you soon with other topics of interest to you.
